Cougar Senior 2008

Posted on April 21, 2008

Today was gorgeous and was spent taking senior portraits for Cougar, Jessica’s brother. Cougar is his real name, which I loved. I’m all about the unique names. My son’s name is Blaze, so Cougar seemed perfectly normal to me!

I’m sure there were plenty of times that he thought I was rather crazy, starting off before we even snapped a shot. We were walking over a little creek to get to a spot to start the session when I stepped into a huge mud pile. It covered my entire foot and flip-flop, so I just kicked off the shoes and continued that part of the session in my bare feet. My darling husband cleaned up my shoes for me, thankfully. He is great.

Anyway, here is a quick sneak peek from today. It was a lot of fun.

Gotta love a guy who can wear pink. I love it.

Isn’t this fun? I told him we were going to practice his jumping skills. It was hilarious.

This family was so lovable. They would walk together arm in arm so often today, I knew that I had to try and capture it. I got some other sweet photos as well, but I thought I would post this one tonight. Isn’t it CUTE!

Cougar, it was really fun working with you today. I hope you enjoy graduation and all that life brings to you!

I’ve been so busy! Photo sessions, zoo trips, trying to clean my house, and taking advantage of this great weather. It’s so much fun, but very exhausting. Here are a few photos from the last few days that I wanted to share.

My darling daughter. Isn’t she cute?

Spring is in the air! It has been so pretty here. In fact, we are going for a walk after I get done with this post. We’ve been looking forward to it all day.

I spent part of the afternoon yesterday trying to capture a good ‘splash’ photo. The kids got involved, even the neighbor kids, and it was a big ball of fun. Here is my favorite from the experiment.

The great outdoors are calling. Maybe I’ll have some more to post later tonight. Regardless, there are some sneak peeks in the future!

Jessica and Larry Take Two

Posted on April 10, 2008

As promised, here are two more photos of Sunday’s wonderful engagement session. I totally adore how both of these turned out and just had to share. Now you’ll have to wait to see the rest, Jessica! :)

And my favorite of the entire session, a kiss with a little sun flare. I love sun flare.

Larry and Jessica

Posted on April 7, 2008

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the engagement photos of Larry and Jessica today. It was so much fun. Jessica was a trooper hiking around the park with these killer (but cute!) black heels. They decided that they were tired of the stress of planning a local winter wedding, so they are flying out to Vegas this summer! Isn’t that exciting?

Here is a little taste of what went on today.

A little of the hot, serious look.

Sweet talking at the tree.

And check this out, ladies! This is Jessica’s absolutely GORGEOUS ring. I got to hold it and I’m surprised I didn’t sprain my wrist. Wowza!

There are two other photos that I think I shall post after I finish editing them. They are just too fun not to post.

Jessica and Larry, you guys were great!! Thank you so much for a totally fun afternoon.

My little gift to you

Posted on April 4, 2008

I take one self-portrait a day. I tried to complete this project last year, managed 177 days and then had to stop. There were multiple factors against me: a Big Fat Positive that knocked me off my feet, a move to a new state, and a huge amount of time without the internet. I decided after my youngest daughter was born in November that I would not only start another 365 project, but that I would also take a photo a day of my children as well. Have I always been able to take a photo a day? Um, no. I’m not super woman. There have been ice storms, power outages, a suicidal computer and my sometimes laziness or forgetfulness getting in the way. All things considered, I’ve done fairly well. Over 100 days for me and the girls are in their late 90s. My son’s numbers aren’t nearly as impressive since he is not always with us, but I do try to snap his photo for every day that he is here. It helps that he loves the camera!

Yesterday’s photo turned out to be rather pretty and I wanted to share it. It has a spring feel to it and it makes me happy. I’m in love with spring. Don’t tell my husband. Poor guy might get jealous.

Blast from the Past!!

Posted on April 3, 2008

I love this weather; it is so gorgeous! It makes me realize that weddings are soon to be popping up all over the place. Wedding photography is something that I adore and can’t wait to do. I’ve done one small, intimate wedding and am doing another wedding in August. Weddings make me think of bridals and the lovely photographs that can result, so I decided to post some photos that I took of my sister-in-law last year. She and my brother had a gorgeous beach wedding that I wasn’t able to attend, so I did her bridal photographs when they returned. I loved it! She looked so beautiful and it was so much fun.

Here are a few of my favorites.

And my favorite of the day. We were driving back into town and as I saw these storm clouds rolling in, we passed this adorable church. I begged my brother to stop so we could take advantage of the great setting. It was awesome!

Playing in the Rain

Posted on April 3, 2008

It started to sprinkle today and Tot wanted to go outside with her new umbrella. I let her go out and walk around for a bit while I snapped some photos. Isn’t she cute!! Excuse her messy hair. She was rather anti-hairbrush today. She also has some lunch on her face!
