My first Boudoir session! |Northwest Arkansas Boudoir Photographer
Posted on August 22, 2008
This is actually my 2nd attempt at a boudoir session besides my own self-portraits. The first session was for a friend who is shy and whose husband wasn’t really hip on the idea of my using the photos for a public portfolio, which I can completely understand. I began a hunt for someone who would be okay with it. This lovely lady is not only an aspiring model (makes for super easy sessions!) but she is also going to get married to a dear family friend next month! I’m very excited about doing their engagement photos and about the wedding. We both had a ton of fun and have lots more ideas for another boudoir session and plan on doing another one as soon as possible!
And no worries. All photos only show as much skin as you would find at the beach or pool. I’m sure we’ve all been shocked more by watching TV! And I also have permission for these photos to be viewed. All my boudoir sessions will follow these same guidelines.
We started off with just some fun and cute sleep clothes. Although boudoir sessions can get a little racy, I like to start off slow to allow everyone to get comfortable and relaxed.
Doesn’t she have beautiful eyes!!
I had to give a little love to these gorgeous red shoes, not to mention her killer legs!
I wanted to play around with angles and my mirror.
I’m sure some of you are asking why would you want to get a boudoir session. Well, for a bride, what better gift to give your new husband on the wedding night than an album or custom book of photos of you looking hot just for him? Or for a one year anniversary? Or any anniversary, for that matter. Boudoir doesn’t have to be just for brides! In fact, I’m in the process of putting together a package for small groups of girlfriends to do boudoir. Imagine going to a sweet bed and breakfast or fun hotel with your best friends, drinking a little wine while having a great time cheering each other on as we take some sexy photos for that special someone in your life! Now that I think I’m finished going back through the archives of what I couldn’t post during the move, I would like to post some photos of my favorite subjects, my kids!
Remember, if the photos are not playing nice and you would like to see them bigger, just click on them.

They are so gorgeous. Easy to see why they are my favorite subjects!!

I met Cora and James through my sister. They are a gorgeous couple and were a lot of fun to photograph. You could tell James wasn’t really wanting to take the pictures, but he did it for her and it was adorable. Cora wanted a pretty park-like setting, so we decided to go to Garden City in Bentonville. It was my first time taking photos there though I have always wanted to do so. It really made my day.
Isn’t this sweet? It was the one request that Cora had because James kisses her on the forehead every night. Awwwww!

Thank you, Cora and James, for such a fun day!

My cousin had a sweet baby girl and asked me if I would take her newborn photos. Of course I said yes! She is an adorable baby with big bright eyes who really seemed to love the camera. Here are some of my favorites that are ironically all horizontal crops.

I’m going to have a little fun and go back in time and show you some of the sessions I’ve been doing during my looooong internet absence.
This couple and I actually managed to squeeze in this session the day before I moved from OK. I literally took a few hours break from packing to take their photos before running back home and packing some more. It was nice to have something I love distract from all that horrible packing, plus we had a great time walking around downtown Broken Arrow finding fun places to take pictures.
Jennifer knew that I like to take fun photos of the engagement ring and she decided she wanted something a little different than flowers to display hers.
Thank you guys for being so fun and breaking up the painful job of packing up four people’s lives in just under two weeks.

I moved!!
Posted on August 16, 2008
I know it has been ages since I’ve last been able to update this little corner of my life. My family and I got the opportunity to relocate back to our home state after eight months in Tulsa. As much as we loved Oklahoma and all of the great people, we just couldn’t say no to the chance to go back home. John’s company actually asked us if it was feasible for us to move in TWO weeks and things just fell into place. It was hectic- picture packing and moving with a three year old and a six month old, and then staying in a tiny bedroom for a month while house hunting. Not an easy feat. After all that whirlwind activity , we are finally settled!
I promise that there will be more activity on the blog again. I have much to share from my time away and I can not wait to do so!
