Calling all models! | Northwest Arkansas Lifestyle Photographer

Posted on January 25, 2009

I have a new baby! I got a new camera and now I want to play. All of the regular people I bug to be my models, my kids, my husband, my friends and their kids, have other things going on. Or in my kids’ cases, they are just sick of the camera. :) And so I am throwing out an offer on super short notice to see if I have any takers.

I really don’t have any particular ideas in my head when it comes to what type of session this is, so this is pretty much an open call. Families, couples, seniors, children, I’m not picky. It’s a chance to have a session with me and receive five images on CD with a printing release for free.

Since it is cold out, I would love to see lots of fantastic layers with interesting textures. Hats, scarves, beautiful jackets, fun boots, colorful gloves and/or tights. I’ll go into all of that in more depth in email.

So, anyone with an hour or two to spare and can take the chill, send me an email at raininglightphotos@yahoo.com!

And just because I haven’t posted a photo in the last few posts, here is an oldie but a goodie. Oh, how I miss warm weather!

I need some models! | Northwest Arkansas Senior Photographer

Posted on January 23, 2009

I am looking for a couple of junior or senior aged boys and girls to play model for some brochures I’m designing. And possibly for school reps for senior photos as well.

Interested? It’s really simple. I would take photos of you in some awesome and interesting locations for an hour or two. Ten images on DVD with a printing release would be given in exchange for your time and the use of your pretty face (so I need a model release signed) for my brochure. You can email me at raininglightphotography@yahoo.com for more information. As I’m hoping for very specific looks to achieve the ideas in my head for this project, please send a photo with the email. The photo should be resized to about 500 pixels on the long side.

Tell everyone you know about it as well!

And I’ll be doing the same thing in the not so distant future with children, family and babies, so check back often!

Changing the Look

Posted on January 21, 2009

In preparation of some upcoming announcements concerning prices and collections, I’ve updated the look of the blog. Things are still a work in progress and will smooth out over the next 24 hours or so.

Thanks for your patience!

I created a facebook page for Raining Light Photography today. I still have my facebook training wheels on, but I’m learning and having fun! The page will be another place in addition to the blog where I can announce all the fun things that I have planned for this year. I also hope it will bet my name out there, so become a fan or Raining Light Photography and tell all your friends! ;)

Testing out the new Lens | Northwest Arkansas Children Photographer

Posted on January 5, 2009

What happens when you are my friend and I get a new lens? I kidnap your kids to take it for a spin! Miss P and Mister J belong to my husband’s best friend. I’ve seen these little guys grow sooo much in the last six years. It amazes me looking at these photos. It is almost like looking at my own kids growing up.

I’ve used Miss P for a model a time or two in the past and originally was just going to steal her away for photos. Their mom and I decided to see what Mister J would give us, and I’m so glad we did! He really surprised us. We may have a little model on our hands in addition to his big sis.

My only regret on this one is not thinking to put her hair behind her back instead of on her shoulder. I still love it.

Haha! I adore that look he is giving her.

I have many more favorites from this little session and may be back to post some more!

Lazy Mornings | Northwest Arkansas Lifestyle Photography

Posted on January 4, 2009

If I had a million wishes, one of them would be for the morning light in my bedroom to exist all day long throughout the entire house. It is so yummy.

These make my heart happy. They were taken on a lazy morning. I can’t quite remember when. During a recent photo clean-up, I’ve discovered a few folders of images I’ve never edited. It’s been a lovely surprise.
