I put out s very short notice call on facebook for a potential model to come and help me test some things out. I got lucky because Bailey couldn’t have been a better model. Totally patient with me and laughed and all my dorky quirks. It was great. I’m looking forward to when we do a real session with her. But until then, here is what we got:
Gorgeous, is she not? I love this session.

I have already posted the sneak peek from this session, but it was so fun that I just wanted to share a few more. It was probably my favorite family session to date!
*sigh* It just makes me so happy.

Sometimes my sister likes to come over with short notice to do some sort of fun activity with the kids. Yesterday, as I was elbows deep in editing, she calls and says that she has pumpkins and will be over soon. I decided to take a little break and let the kids go crazy because, hey, they are only young once, right? Have to enjoy them while I can.
So, we dressed them up in cozy Halloween inspired pjs, threw a pumpkin hat on the baby, and ran outside to try and get a group shot of them. We were missing Blaze and my brother’s three kiddos.
Unfortunately, the sky decided to cut our photo session short by releasing rain, so this is the best we got.
They are so cute.
Then it was time to use foam cutouts to make some Halloween decorations and then carve some pumpkins. Autumn couldn’t find any of the stencils as a guideline and I haven’t hooked up the new printer to my new computer (but already stowed away the old one. Not sure what I was thinking on that one), so I just decided to freehand whatever designs the kids wanted. They picked a bat, a butterfly, a princess, and a jack-o-lantern. Um, yeah, the jack-o-lantern turned out the best. I guess when I’m drawing, the other designs just do not translate well into a carving! We had fun, though, which is all that matters!
You can see a peek at our humble fall decorations up on the kiddos’ art wall. We gathered up leaves to hang up with the paintings. We also have pine cones peeking out from various places about the house.
Tatum was a little grossed out by the pumpkin guts and quickly decided she wanted NOTHING to do with it. At all. She did scoop one handful out and then burst into tears. Yay, experiences!
Yeah, that pumpkin on the right is supposed to be the princess. I wanted to draw it in profile, which is why you can see a bit of the nose, but then Tatum decided it HAD to be from the front. It looks much better in the dark and glowing. No worries, folks, we are going to a pumpkin patch this week with Daddy and are going to attempt to do better pumpkins. With stencils. And much better results than these DIY pumpkins that I’ve created.
I hope all of you are enjoying the great fall weather!

I had the pleasure of shooting a gorgeous wedding on Sunday at Creekwood Gardens. The place looked amazing. Crystal chandeliers hung from the trees, every table was adorned with a variety of yellow pretties, and the cake looked delicious. Shandi and Kevin are such a cute couple. And the way he looks at her is so amazing. It’s very sweet. I adored every minute of my time with them as they moved through one of the most important days of their life together.
Here are a few moments that I’d like to share.
Congratulations, Shandi and Kevin!

The time has come! Ready? Time to announce the winners of my little contest for 10.10.10! Excited? I am!
I decided for the sake of fun photos that instead of using Random.org to pick winners, I would employ my five year old to draw names out of the hat. Or basket, in this case. She thought it was a lot of fun and even helped with the list.
Here she is reaching into the basket for the first winner. Isn’t she cute with her missing tooth? She has another one that is oh so close to falling out. My baby is growing up.
Our first three winners, each receiving $10 off of their next session fee with Raining Light Photography, are:
2.) Maggie B.
3.) Ruth P.
Our next two winners, each receiving 10% off of their next order with Raining Light Photography, are:
The winner of the 10 image accordion mini album containing images from her next Raining Light Photography session is:
The winner of 10 free 5x7s from her next Raining Light session is:
1.) Michelle J.
Next up, a free 10×10 mounted print from her next session with Raining Light Photography:
1.) Shelia M.
Who gets a 10×19 standout from her next session with Raining Light Photography?
Annnnnnnnnd who is the winner of the grand prize? Who gets a session with Raining Light Photography and TEN digital images?
Congratulations to Angie O! I’m so excited for our session together!!
I can’t let them go away empty handed, so they also get $10 off their next session fee with Raining Light Photography.
Congratulations to all of our winners. Thank you so much for participating in my contest. It’s been a lot of fun.

Someone is really cute. Someone has the blue, blue eyes of her sister and father. Someone likes to clap, play ‘Big Girl’ (throwing her hands up in the air) and playing ball. Someone likes blocks, eating, singing to us in her sweet little voice, and crawling all over the place. Someone is teething. Someone let me cuddle her for a half an hour in the middle of the night because no other soothing would do. It was really sweet.
Someone turns a year old oh so soon.
