I’m not afraid of a little fog | Northwest Arkansas Family Photographer

When Ashton first contacted me about taking their family portrait,
I knew we were going to be a great fit.
She already had a vision for the portraits.
She wanted them taken at her husband’s family’s farm.
And she said she adored my use of color.

She was very concerned about the time of day because she wanted gorgeous light,
so when she said that their little girl was happiest early in the morning,
I suggested a sunrise session.
I was thrilled when she thought it would be a great idea!

The day of the session was a bit chillier than normal for that time of day and I was a little concerned as
I headed out toward the farm.
I should not have been worried about the chill.
The closer I got to the farm, the thicker the fog became.
When Ashton and I got out of our cars to greet each other you could not see eight to ten feet beyond us.
It was insane.

We made it work.

We even took a few quick shots of just the two of them. They both recently lost a combined total of 80lbs and they look amazing.

That’s what this little doll was thinking the entire shoot, I’m sure.
She was all smiles and giggles until the moment I put the camera to my face.
Even while giving the stink eye, she was super adorable.

She’s New! | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

My sister had a sweet little baby girl last week.
She’s a doll.
She has round little cheeks
and a squishy little face.

I got to pull the Auntie card and photograph her over the weekend.
Lucky me!
And I get to do another session with her and the entire family soon!
Lucky me again!

Here are some of my faves from her newborn session.
Prepare for your ovaries to ache
(if you have ovaries. If you are reading this,
don’t have ovaries, but suddenly find them aching,
please go to the doctor! )
She’s just THAT cute.

Home at Last | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Three months.

That’s how long it took for this little guy to come home.

Despite the fact that he decided to arrive well ahead of schedule,

he is perfect.

Before I share some images from his session, I have to share my two favorite things about his nursery.

Coolest things ever, right? I really adored his mom’s sense of style.

My favorite part about this one? The accidental reflection up in the picture. I didn’t notice it until I pulled this up on my computer. Complete adoration in her face.

*sigh*
That last one may be my favorite image so far this year.

So in love.

Look who is bigger! | Northwest Arkansas Family Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking this little doll’s newborn photos. We decided to get together for some family photos since her daddy had to work during the other session, and I am SO glad we did. I’m just in love with these images.

They are completely and totally in love with that girl.

I love how it shines.

And even though she was not very happy to see me, she did give me this little gem.

Isn’t she lovely? | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Sweetest little girl, she really was. You can’t tell from any of the photos that I’ve posted, but she was seriously the MOST ALERT week old baby I have ever met. She thought she was at least six weeks old, I swear.

Can little baby lips be any cuter?
Yeah, didn’t think so.

This one cracks me up.

A Little Man | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

This little guy’s mommy contacted me when he was a five weeks old, so he was so much more alert than a typical newborn. I explained that we probably wouldn’t get the super sleepy, curly shots of a baby ten days or younger, but that we would still have a fun time.

And we did. We got some adorable shots of him by himself, but, for me, it is the family shots that steal the show!

Squirmy? Yep. At times.

“Mmm hmm. You put me on here and expect me just to go to sleep? Does it look like….I’m going to fall…………”

“….asleezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz”
(looks a little mad about it, doesn’t he?;) )

Little kisses for the baby!

They really love him, can’t you tell? ?

And this one was a sort of outtake, but I couldn’t resist the light, plus I love watching couples as they figure out that awkward dance that is ‘Exchanging the Baby.’
