Sweet, sweet baby Greer | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Oh this session was so fantastic. Greer is such an adorable, sweet, beautiful baby and I just couldn’t get enough of her. She’s the perfect addition to a really wonderful family and I’m so happy for them.

Just look at her!

Yesterday was bittersweet.  It marked a year since my sweet little Aryah came into our lives a little bit earlier than expected.  How can a year have already flown by?  It really doesn’t seem possible that the tiny little baby that we brought home weighing only 4lbs 5ozs is now a one year old.  That she now cruises the furniture, crawls like greased lightening, or waves bye bye.  She is still not walking, and she is still small for her age, but she is such a bright part of our family.

Here she is for her first official photo session with daddy:

And here are a few from yesterday’s session with her first cupcake of her very own.

She didn’t really know what to think of the icing

But she liked the candle.

Mmmm, maybe icing is okay after all.

Oh, sweet, sweet little baby. You are so precious to me!

Someone is really cute.  Someone has the blue, blue eyes of her sister and father.  Someone likes to clap, play ‘Big Girl’ (throwing her hands up in the air) and playing ball.  Someone likes blocks, eating, singing to us in her sweet little voice, and crawling all over the place. Someone is teething.  Someone let me cuddle her for a half an hour in the middle of the night because no other soothing would do. It was really sweet.

Someone turns a year old oh so soon.

School is going well. My bright eyed little girl has bounced into the car with a smile on her face on all but two of the days that she has gone to class. On those two days, she received yellows in her behavior charts. This made her sad. :( But she is trying really hard and wants to get to purple. :)

Since she leaves them to do fun, amusing, glamorous Kindergarten things, Paeton and Aryah are left with me to do fun, giggly, stay-at-home-with-young-children things. It’s different and we miss Tates, but we are adapting. :)

This is how we like to wake up.
Aryah! 10 months

Not a bad way to start the day!

The other day I decided that it was time to do Aryah’s ten month old photos while the weather was so pretty. Now, I saw the opportunity for some beautiful light, nicely asked (yelled) at John to please come help me gather the girls up before we lost it. I stripped the baby as John helped Paeton into one of her favorite dress up outfits. We rushed out in the front yard, threw down a quilt, and placed the baby on it. So, Aryah loves to crawl. She’s been doing it for months now but only recently started sitting. This meant that I knew we would have about 1.2 seconds before she tried to crawl off the quilt and attack some pine needles. I was correct and after several attempts, I got one usable shot. I even tried to put her in a doll bassinet to keep her sitting and not crawling out of the frame. That ended up in hysterical laughter because she decided that particular moment was THE BEST time to pee. Back on the quilt she went.

Good thing she is cute.

Paeton is notorious for wanting to have her photo taken when it isn’t really her turn. Who am I to say no to that adorable face?

And look at this!! Both of them together and looking at the camera.

I’m so lucky.

These are such bittersweet photos for me!  This precious little baby is my cousin’s newest little doll.  Isn’t she gorgeous?  She was so wonderful to work with, too.  I loved the entire session.  They are bittersweet because they make me realize that my own little baby is growing so fast!  We are actually in the middle of weaning and I’m a great big ball of hormonal hot mess!  I go back and forth between anticipating all the things I’ll be able to do that I haven’t been able to enjoy in the recent past, like weekends away with my hubby or a girls’ night out, but then I’ll start to feel guilty that my little, tiny baby won’t need me as much anymore.  Waa waa waa.  I’m such a sap right now!! :)

Back to this little baby!  This little bundle of girly newness with adorable little lips and sweet lashes.  Did I mention how easy she was for me to pose?  She was a little dream.

I told you! Pure, sweet baby goodness. I’m so happy for my cousin and her family!!

And this makes me anxious for my brother’s newest baby to arrive soon! :)

My last post was a gorgeous maternity session of this little guy’s mama.  Four days after we did the session, he decided to make a break for it.  It was such a quick escape that it landed him in the NICU for a few days.  He came home after eight days and is doing just fine.  He was the cutest little thing for his session and slept so well.  And made adorable little noises.  It was great.

Here are some of my faves from the day. Enjoy!

I had a desire to do an outdoor maternity session for quite sometime.  I wanted something in a field with pretty light.  The opportunity finally presented itself and I fell in love.  It was a happy thing for the session to happen when it did because four short days after these photos were taken, the baby decided to come a wee bit early!  I should be doing his newborn session later this week.  :)

Today I decided to write about my little Paeton.  She has been giggling on my lap for the biggest part of today.  Well, the part of the day that didn’t involve her lathering up her hands with soap and then rubbing her eyes.  Repeatedly.   I seemed to have lost the battle that involved being able to get her to understand that she needed to STOP rubbing her eyes so I could clean her up.  Poor baby.

Here are some cute little photos of her from a couple of weeks ago.

Serious for a moment.

She likes to wear headbands despite not really having any hair. This is her almost normal way of wearing it. The other ‘Paeton style’ is with the ends resting near her eyes. :)

Her little grin is the best, is it not? I wished I could have put her in better light to show off those eyes, but I take what I can get with her at this age!!

This little guy was so precious!  As the mother of four kiddos who had no hair until they were at least two, I’m always amazed to see babies with hair, especially so young.

Don’t you just want to cuddle him?
