Ooh la la | Northwest Arkansas Boudoir Photographer

Posted on January 19, 2010

I mentioned a little bit earlier on how I’m working on a new home for all of my boudoir work. That project is still a work in progress, though it is close to being finished! In the meantime, I’ve whipped up a little temporary nook for boudoir until their forever home is complete.

Here is a little peek into the first post at the temporary place.

When this gorgeous lady asked me to do a boudoir session as a surprise for her husband, I was incredibly excited. I love surprises and think that boudoir sessions make such an awesome gift.

Isn’t she beautiful? And the light coming into her house that day was wonderful. I was very happy and we got some amazing images!!

Announcing Boudoir Collection | Northwest Arkansas Boudoir Photography

Posted on November 10, 2008

Now that it is getting colder and outdoor sessions aren’t nearly as fun, it is the perfect time to start focusing on the indoors. For Raining Light Photography, this time of year usually means two things: boudoir sessions and portrait parties! Of course, you can still book a normal session during the winter months. In fact, I love the challenge of creating fun and unique images of your family in your own home. I’ll address that more a bit in a future post. This one is just to announce a few things about boudoir sessions. A post with more details about portrait parties will come later.

I’ve had inquiries as to when I’m going to unveil my new boudoir collection, especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner. After much discussion with a few of my past boudoir clients, I’ve discovered that most get very excited about the albums I offer and love the idea of their images in a beautiful book. Not only does it make for a great gift, but it is a wonderful way to be able to show off the gorgeous images all in one place. And, let’s face it, while we may want to be able to show off sexy images of ourselves, do we really want a huge canvas over the bed? (Well, some might!) Albums are easy to whip out and show off how sexy and gorgeous you can be without worrying about your mother-in-law coming over and catching a glimpse of you in your undies.

The boudoir collection will include my time and artistic vision, extra special detail in making you look your best, an 8×8 leather album, and a $50 print credit for $275! The holidays are right around the corner and if you want to book a session as a gift for Christmas, please note that all orders must be into my lab by the 1st of December, and there is limited availability.

I love doing boudoir sessions. Something about showing a woman that she IS sexy, beautiful and gorgeous just really makes me happy. We all deserve to feel special and I think boudoir sessions are a great way to accomplish that. And they are so much fun! Lots of talk and laughter. Want to get a bunch of girlfriends together, rent a hotel and all do boudoir sessions? Let me know and everyone will get $25 off their collection price!

This sweet lady and I met in a somewhat unusual way- she married my boyfriend from college! They are simply adorable together and I’m really glad that they found each other. She wanted to get boudoir portraits done because they had recently decided to start trying for a baby. A little last minute sexiness with the ‘old body,’ if you will. We actually talked about how she could possibly pregnant while we were shooting! I got an email a couple of weeks later telling me that, in fact, they were expecting a wee one! I’m very excited for them and know that they will make fantastic parents. I hope the baby has her red hair! :)

Here are a few of my favorites of the day. As always, I have full permission to post these photos and there is nothing revealed that you wouldn’t see at a beach. :) Enjoy!

This next one is a favorite for both of us.

Does she not have the best red hair?! I love it.

Congratulations, guys, on the pregnancy. I can’t wait to watch it all unfold.

My first Boudoir session! |Northwest Arkansas Boudoir Photographer

Posted on August 22, 2008

This is actually my 2nd attempt at a boudoir session besides my own self-portraits. The first session was for a friend who is shy and whose husband wasn’t really hip on the idea of my using the photos for a public portfolio, which I can completely understand. I began a hunt for someone who would be okay with it. This lovely lady is not only an aspiring model (makes for super easy sessions!) but she is also going to get married to a dear family friend next month! I’m very excited about doing their engagement photos and about the wedding. We both had a ton of fun and have lots more ideas for another boudoir session and plan on doing another one as soon as possible!

And no worries. All photos only show as much skin as you would find at the beach or pool. I’m sure we’ve all been shocked more by watching TV! And I also have permission for these photos to be viewed. All my boudoir sessions will follow these same guidelines. :)

We started off with just some fun and cute sleep clothes. Although boudoir sessions can get a little racy, I like to start off slow to allow everyone to get comfortable and relaxed.

I’m sure some of you are asking why would you want to get a boudoir session. Well, for a bride, what better gift to give your new husband on the wedding night than an album or custom book of photos of you looking hot just for him? Or for a one year anniversary? Or any anniversary, for that matter. Boudoir doesn’t have to be just for brides! In fact, I’m in the process of putting together a package for small groups of girlfriends to do boudoir. Imagine going to a sweet bed and breakfast or fun hotel with your best friends, drinking a little wine while having a great time cheering each other on as we take some sexy photos for that special someone in your life!
