I’ve been spending most of my free time going through older photos and
haven’t spent a lot of time on the photos that I’ve been taking recently.
I’m trying to get all these old photos together and put them in a photobook.
It may even end up being two or three books
because I’m working through all unprinted photos for the last
six years.
That’s a lot of photos!
It’s been a great trip down memory lane.
My kiddos have grown so much over the years.
My photography has changed.
And overall I’m incredibly happy with how I’ve documented our life.

I want to share some of these photos,
some that have never even seen the light of day,
but only once I start working on layouts.
Right now I’m still figuring out what I want to include
and making sure they are edited.
Basically, they are still a mess.
:)

So, for today I decided to share some recent memories.

Not too long ago,
I met up with John and the girls
at a local walking/bike trail
so I could push the stroller with the tot as
the big girls rode bikes.

I find myself not bringing a big camera out with us as often as I used to do.
My phone is used as a point and shoot for our
day to day snapshots.
I could have easily only had it with me this day,
but I will be forever happy that I was meeting them after a session.
This means I already had my camera bag with me and had no excuses
to not whip out the big boys for this awesome occasion.

It was the day that Tatum was going to attempt riding her bike without training wheels.

 She rocked it.

I caught the very moment she rode her bike without any help.
I love, love, love her tongue sticking out!

There have been some pretty amazing days so far this fall
and we’ve spent lots of time outside.

It’s been such a welcome relief to the relentless heat from this summer.
These photos are just from one afternoon right after John came home from work.
I was snapping photos of the girls as they were playing.
He noticed a huge dead branch caught in other branches up in one of the trees.
Then we took turns swinging the girls around while trying to
take photos of their faces.

Just a lovely day.

There you have it.
A little Family Friday love since it’s been awhile since I posted one.

Well, I was really hoping to have my son’s birthday letter and a photo session with him today,
but he has a social engagement.
Fourteen year olds.
Geez.
;)

Instead,
I will share this self-portrait I took with the girls this winter.
We were all in need of a shower.
I have on zero make-up.
My room is a mess.
(And actually doesn’t look like that anymore.)
And you can see my sewing kit and a really, really, really old canvas
we got from one of our very first official family photos.
(How old?
The fourteen year old was only six!! )

I don’t care about any of that.
I just care about the fun we had, the giggles, and the love.

I love how real it is.
That’s what I love so much about lifestyle sessions in the home.
It’s a very real slice out of your life.

This little slice of my life will soon be hanging up in my room.  :)

(If you have a mom in your life who would just adore a laid back casual
session with her little loves,
then you need to contact me about
Mommy Loves Me session
for Mother’s Day!)

Yeah, it’s been a fun spring break for us this year.
And when it wasn’t raining, this was what we were doing.

Not exactly a 10 on 10 (ten photos from a day posted on the 10th of the month), but I liked it anyway.
(I also get into kicks where I like to process my personal images with presets by Kellie Hatcher
They are so fun.)

Sensory tub and bed head.

(doesn’t everyone wear unicorn costumes.  And doesn’t every unicorn wear a bikini top? Hm…)

We have a serious Sorry addiction in this house.

raininglightphotographysorrry

We play as a family at least once a week.
John and I play about two or three times a week by ourselves.
And we have two couples that come over on different evenings about once or twice a week for a
Sorry tournament.
It’s cut throat.

We had a lot of fun.
Paeton made a special friend.
A snowball.
She named her Snowball.
Snowball, of course, could not go inside with us.
The following conversation happened:
(this is copied and pasted from my facebook page)
Paeton is currently looking outside at her ‘Snowball friend’ and crying
because she can’t bring him inside.
Tatum is trying to pretend she is Snowball and it will be okay.

P-”Snoooooooooooooowbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalll”
T-:”It’s Okay. I don’t want to melt.”
P-”But I don’t want to be inside, I want to be outside with youuuuuuuuuuuuu”
T-”I’m sorry. *cries* You have to be inside.”
P-”I don’t want you to meeeeeeeeeelt”
T-”I know. I love you. Good-bye.”
P-”I don’t want your family to meeeeeelllt.”
T-”We will be okay. Hopefully it will snow soon so we can play with each other again.”
P-”Oh, Snowball!! *sobs sobs sobs* I loooooooooooove youuuuuuuuuuuu. *sobs*
T-”I know! Why don’t you sneak outside and come and get me?”
Mommy- “NO!”

Of course, I could not resist taking some photos.
Here is little P and her Snowball.  :(

Excuse the mess.
And the shoe.
