New babies.
Really,
there are very few things in this world
that are better than
a new baby.
This little girl was
so sweet
and
snuggly.
And she is
SO
adored
by her mom and dad.
Here are a few images
from our time together.

She’s New! | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer
Posted on January 16, 2012
My sister had a sweet little baby girl last week.
She’s a doll.
She has round little cheeks
and a squishy little face.
I got to pull the Auntie card and photograph her over the weekend.
Lucky me!
And I get to do another session with her and the entire family soon!
Lucky me again!
Here are some of my faves from her newborn session.
Prepare for your ovaries to ache
(if you have ovaries. If you are reading this,
don’t have ovaries, but suddenly find them aching,
please go to the doctor!
)
She’s just THAT cute.

Home at Last | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Three months.
That’s how long it took for this little guy to come home.
Despite the fact that he decided to arrive well ahead of schedule,
he is perfect.
Before I share some images from his session, I have to share my two favorite things about his nursery.
Coolest things ever, right? I really adored his mom’s sense of style.
My favorite part about this one? The accidental reflection up in the picture. I didn’t notice it until I pulled this up on my computer. Complete adoration in her face.
*sigh*
That last one may be my favorite image so far this year.
So in love.

Isn’t she lovely? | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Sweetest little girl, she really was. You can’t tell from any of the photos that I’ve posted, but she was seriously the MOST ALERT week old baby I have ever met. She thought she was at least six weeks old, I swear.
Can little baby lips be any cuter?
Yeah, didn’t think so.
This one cracks me up.
And I’ll leave you guys with my two of my faves!!

Sweet Little Peanut | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

Aww, this little guy put up SUCH a fight in the beginning, but he soon fell asleep and did so very well.
His mom told me he was strong willed and that was the complete truth!
I had to pull out all of the tricks, but it was so worth it.
I loved the way he held his little mouth while sleeping.
SO adorable.

Sweet little lady| Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

These are such bittersweet photos for me! This precious little baby is my cousin’s newest little doll. Isn’t she gorgeous? She was so wonderful to work with, too. I loved the entire session. They are bittersweet because they make me realize that my own little baby is growing so fast! We are actually in the middle of weaning and I’m a great big ball of hormonal hot mess! I go back and forth between anticipating all the things I’ll be able to do that I haven’t been able to enjoy in the recent past, like weekends away with my hubby or a girls’ night out, but then I’ll start to feel guilty that my little, tiny baby won’t need me as much anymore. Waa waa waa. I’m such a sap right now!!
Back to this little baby! This little bundle of girly newness with adorable little lips and sweet lashes. Did I mention how easy she was for me to pose? She was a little dream.
I told you! Pure, sweet baby goodness. I’m so happy for my cousin and her family!!
And this makes me anxious for my brother’s newest baby to arrive soon!

Just a wee little guy | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer
Posted on June 10, 2010
My last post was a gorgeous maternity session of this little guy’s mama. Four days after we did the session, he decided to make a break for it. It was such a quick escape that it landed him in the NICU for a few days. He came home after eight days and is doing just fine. He was the cutest little thing for his session and slept so well. And made adorable little noises. It was great.
Here are some of my faves from the day. Enjoy!

Sweet Little Guy | Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photographer

This little guy was so precious! As the mother of four kiddos who had no hair until they were at least two, I’m always amazed to see babies with hair, especially so young.
Don’t you just want to cuddle him?
Baby lips are so adorable!!
We even got a little grin from him.

Good-bye, 2009! Hello, 2010! | Northwest Arkansas Lifestyle Photographer
Posted on January 1, 2010
2010. It is finally here. It brings soo many changes in my life, both personally and with Raining Light Photography. This will be the year my daughter starts kindergarten. Can she really already be at that point? My son will turn 12!! I can vividly remember twelve being a turning point in my life in so many ways and so I look to this milestone of his with bittersweet anticipations. Our sweet Paeton will turn three! She is so independent and headstrong now. I can only imagine what she’ll bring to my plate this year. Even though tiny Aryah is but seven weeks old at the moment, I know that soon I will planning to prepare for the first birthday of my last child. I’m so glad I have many months before that one! I’ll hit the big three oh this year. As of right now, I’m okay with that. My life is pretty sweet. You may, however, be hearing screams from me around May because I’m not sure how calm I’ll be about it as the date gets closer.
Seriously, though, I think I’ll be fine with thirty. It’ll be thirty-five that will most likely be scary for me.
Be on the look out for some changes for Raining Light, too. I’m restructuring my pricing, completely revamping the boudoir line-up (and will be moving that aspect of the business to its very own site in the near future!), and implementing some new ideas into the wedding side of things as well. There will be some new products, new packages with emphasis on digital, and a more streamlined process all the way around. 2009 was a great learning year and I hope that I can really make 2010 better! I also hope to blog at least once a week and show more sides of Cherron as a person. I realized this year that some of the greatest inspirational blogs from my favorite photographers, the ones that I can’t wait to check in the mornings to see who posted something new, were the ones that showed glimpses of their personal lives as well as the photography side. I’ve decided that I need to do that as well. I want my clients to feel like they know me well before the first click of the shutter during a session. There is no reason why I can’t make my business the type that I WANT to run and not the type that I think people feel it should be.
So, yes, 2009 was great even though it was a slow year because of my pregnancy. I learned a lot, developed a more solid idea of where I want to be in the future, and grew so much as a photographer and as a person. I’m so ready for 2010 to be even better! I’d like to thank all of my clients in 2009 for such a fantastic year. You were all an absolute pleasure to work with!!
I hope that 2010 is a beautiful and healthy year for all of you as well!
xoxo
Cherron
